Caroline Wilk is proud to be associated with Shulamith of Brooklyn, the only all girls Zionist school in Brooklyn, for over 30 years. She feels that Shulamith is her home away from home. Born and educated in London, England, she spent 5 years in Israel before moving to New York where she married and raised her family. After teaching preschool for numerous years she completed a leadership course through the Lookstein Center and Bar Ilan University and became the Preschool Director and Director of Admissions. She is passionate about teaching 5 year olds and loves seeing them flourish both socially and academically in both Hebrew and English subjects.

Ahuva Tabib was born in Israel and educated at Seminar Bet Yaakov Sharansky in Tel Aviv. She came to New York with her family 35 years ago. Her daughters are all Shulamith graduates and she has had granddaughters in Shulamith. Ahuva has been working in our Preschool for over 25 years. She is a dedicated, warm professional who helps bring Ivrit alive in the classroom. Ahuva loves teaching young children and they, in turn, love her.

Morah Tamar has a diverse teaching background with seven years of experience. Her focus on Judaic studies for four of those years indicates her expertise and passion for that particular area. Teaching with her heart means that she is deeply committed to her students' well-being and learning, and invests time and effort into creating a supportive and engaging learning environment and strives to shape students' lives and nurture a love for learning that can last a lifetime. Tamar loves what she does and is grateful for the opportunity. She looks forward to teaching young and precious minds each year anew.

Shira Kipnees has been teaching at Shulamith for five years now. She has taught grades one through three. Not only is she working in the classroom, but she is the librarian and educational testing coordinator. A Jewish Day School graduate herself, she holds a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College and an M.S.Ed from Bank Street College of Education.

Ms. Chavie Pomerantz has been a member of the Shulamith Family for many years. She obtained her teacher's certificate from Sara Schenirer Intensive Seminary, and, in addition, graduated the University of Colorado with a B.A. and honors in French. A talented linguist, and a member of the International Baccalaureate Program, she began her Shulamith career as the high school Spanish teacher. After a brief leave of absence, she returned to teach grade six ELA and history. She has not only taught grade six, but has also been the coordinator of the Shmirat Haloshon program, spearheaded by the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation, which has been implemented in grades one through eight. In addition, she has also worked as the Hidden Sparks coach for Shulamith. Chavie is a noted lecturer for women and girls, and will be teaching sixth, seventh and eighth grades Parsha, sixth and eighth grade history, and third grade ELA this year.

Morah Tehila Pearl is a warm, energetic individual who enjoys teaching and working with children. With her personable nature, she creates a loving relationship with her pupils. With many years of experience working with children, she finds teaching her passion and gives it her all. She eagerly awaits each year to impact, shape and give each child a year to remember.

Devorah Panigel has been teaching in Shulamith for the past few years. She is the head of the tefillah program for grades 5th through 8th. Through daily stories and discussions the girls really come to value Tefillah. They know that they can ask any question. She also teaches all Lemudai Kodesh studies for 5th grade. Her students feel each lesson as they act out stories from Chumash and draw out rules in Dikduk. In her classroom every student has an opportunity to showcase her strengths.

For the past 30 years I’ve been doing what I enjoy most, teaching middle school students. I’ve taught in Bais Yaakov of Boro Park, Shaarei Torah and Shalsheles. I’ve taught science, math and computers. I especially enjoy teaching science to this age group as I love the subject matter and help the girls discover the science that is a part of their lives.

Doreen Hacker has been a math teacher since 1993. She completed her undergraduate degree at Stern College in Education and then her Graduate Masters in Math Education from Brooklyn College. She currently teaches math in 2 Yeshivas. She has taught all grades from 1st to 10th grade. Math is her passion, she loves challenge students and getting them to love the subject.

Born in Israel, Morah Sigal served 2 years in the IDF as a Fitness Instructor for soldiers in the armored corps division. She then obtained her degree from the Institute of Fitness America - Israel. For the past 25 years, she has worked as an aerobics instructor for kids, a gym Instructor for adults, and a personal trainer for women. As a jewelry designer, her jewelry has been presented in many exhibitions, including in the Hutzot Hayotzer fair in Jerusalem. Morah Sigal is a caring and a loving teacher, who dedicates her time to the health and fitness of our students.

School Social Worker
Yocheved Kakon is a licensed therapist who graduated with honors from Hunter College with a Master’s degree in Social Work. Yocheved has experience working as a school social worker and serving as a mental health consultant within school settings. Additionally, Yocheved provides psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults struggling with a wide range of mental health challenges. Yocheved is trained in various therapeutic modalities, including Internal Family Systems Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Yocheved is passionate about increasing mental health awareness in schools and working collaboratively to meet the social and emotional needs of students to best support them in school, and beyond.
