Judaic Studies Principal, Grades 1-8

Rabbi Monczyk is a lifelong educator with a wide range of experience in the field of education. He currently is the General Studies Principal of Yeshivas Rabbi Chaim Berlin and has been in that capacity for 11 years. He has also served as the Assistant Principal for the four years prior to becoming Principal. He is a leader in the camping world and has served as a Rebbi in both general and special education settings for many years. After spending three years studying in Yeshivos in Eretz Yisrael, Rabbi Monczyk went on to earn his bachelor’s degree with a dual focus on Psychology and Education. Since then, he has earned a Master of Science in Education and School Building Leadership from St. John’s University. He currently resides in Cedarhurst with his wife and 3 children. 

Caroline Wilk | Shulamith School for Girls of Brooklyn


Director of Preschool, Director of Admissions

Mrs. Caroline Wilk grew up and was educated at the Hasmonean School and at university in England. She arrived in the U.S. in 1976 after spending 5 years in Israel working at Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School. She started at Shulamith in 1988 as a teacher and became the Early Childhood Director/ Director of Admissions in 2012.

Gitty Fleisher | Shulamith School for Girls of Brooklyn


Director of Student Services

Mrs. Gitty Fleisher has been a part of Shulamith School since 1981 where she began as a sixth grade math and science teacher after receiving her B.A. and M.S. in Education from Brooklyn College. She was instrumental in opening the resource room in 1988, and became principal of the Middle School in 2007 upon receiving certification from C.W. Post – L.I.U. in school administration. Currently, in addition to being in charge of the day to day running of the middle school, and teaching math in grades six and eight, she is Director of Students Services, making sure that all students receive whatever services they need or are entitled to, thereby ensuring their success in school.

Penina Karp | Shulamith School for Girls of Brooklyn


Principal | High School

Penina Karp has been the principal of Shulamith High School since 2009. She comes to this position after extensive teaching and administrative experience in the arts and sciences. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees from NYU in Chemistry, Hebrew, and Educational Leadership. She is a research chemist with strong leadership skills and a broad base of knowledge in both general and Judaic studies.

Executive Director

Liz Levi is the Executive Director of Shulamith and a proud alumnus. With nearly two decades of experience in Jewish education and philanthropy, Mrs. Levi stewards the schools daily operations, logistics, fundraising campaigns, and institutional development and works with the administration and Board of Directors to provide visionary leadership and oversight for the schools long-term planning and growth endeavors. Mrs. Levi's work also focuses on the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and programming to meet the current and future needs of the school to accentuate value for Shulamith's student body, parent body, alumni, and philanthropic partners. During her tenure, the school has continued to experience vibrant growth, including flourishing enrollment and an ever-expanding physical footprint. Before assuming her current position, Mrs. Levi served as the Director of Finance. Mrs. Levi earned her B.S. in Business Management & Finance from Brooklyn College. Prior to joining Shulamith, she worked for nearly a decade in various institutions in the education and finance sectors.
