Rebecca Singer grew up in Skokie, Illinois. She began her formal art studies at the Art Institute of Chicago at the age of 16 attending summer classes and learning to draw the human figure. She attended the University of Illinois and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Her work, "Blessings and Bridges," a collection of 36 prints, is now part of the permanent collection of Yeshiva University Museum where she has exhibited several times. This collection has been traveling and shown at the Maisel Center in Denver and other galleries around New York. In 1999, Ms. Singer began teaching art in school settings, as well as senior facilities. Her teaching includes drawing techniques, perspective drawing, watercolor painting, collage, fabric arts, and photography. She's proud to become a member of the Shalamith school and will be teaching grades 1 through 12.
